In 1995 Bernie Dodge developed together with Tom March the webquestmodel. Dodge works as a professor at the University of San Diego and used the educational ideas of Marzano while founding WebQuest.

To summarize the previous paragraph: having a good motivation a student can acquire and integrate new knowledge. The next step is the broaded the knowlegde and using it in practical situations.

Marzano designed an educational theory in which learning is housed in 5 dimensions:

  1. motivation
  2. acquire new knowledge and integrate it into existing knowledge.
  3. broaden existing knowledge
  4. investigate
  5. reflection

The knowledge gained is used to compare with what the student previously heard or used to draw conclusions. A student can then apply this knowledge in meaningful situations by doing research. Finally, the students can reflect their own performance by asking questions such as: how did the learning process workout and how can I improve my approach the next time?

The website of Dodge can give you a lot of information about webquest and creating a webquest (http://webquest.org). This website contains a lot of information about the specific requirements that a webquest must meet. In addition to this information, there are several tools and templates available for download. You don't have to know anything about HTML. Just fill in the template and you are ready to go. The last few years, the phenomenon webquest is gaining an international reputation.Various journals in education focused their attention on this development. The amount of webquests is ever increasing.
